Now that The Big One, has come and gone we can properly step back and see it for what it was. SoupFest 2022, the fifth annual, was the biggest and best SoupFest, yet. It was another Saturday for the books, as $12,000 was raised and donated between our official charity partners at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective and The Alcohol, Drug & Mental Health Board of Franklin County.

The star, as is always the case, were the dozens of homemade soups provided by brave and talented amateur chefs from across the state. We thank each and every SoupMaker for putting it on the line and filling our event with your delicious creations. The music, too, was out of this world from doors to final curtain on Alex Cameron and his business partner, Roy Molloy. It was a joy to see the historic Valley Dale Ballroom packed and pumping with such a shared, positive community energy.

    HALL OF FAME

  • SoupFest 2022 rocked Valley Dale Ballroom for ten straight hours — starting with DJ BOATSS and Govan Jones doing some crate digging to set the vibe. Next, were Biitchseat, Tom Evanchuck, and Wasp Factory — incredibly talented Ohio bands — let it rip during the soup eating portion of the day. Then, The Worn Flints set the place on fire before NNAMDÏ cooled it back down with an eclectic set of his own. Alex Cameron closed out the night with an intimate and energetic performance that no one in attendance will ever forget.

    SOUPFEST ARTISTS

  • Big thanks to the following business and collaborators for sponsoring SoupFest 2022: CD 92.9, The Battaglia Family, T. Marzetti, Parsons North Brewing, Consolidated Pipe & Supply, Tessa Precision Products, The Allan Family, and The Case Bowen Company.

Huge appreciation is also due to the many creative folks who help make SoupFest so special: Andrew White, Kevin Hardman, and Dan Marque with the camera work; Liz Pound designed our 2022 brand suite and t-shirt; Bob Cline at Crown Trophy produced our awards and People’s Choice aprons, Emily Spittler is our merchandise lead and floorplan designer, and the talented Caroline Law writes up our press materials.

The genius crew at Compile Columbus built a custom online platform for QR-enabled touchless voting. The homemade soup was great, as always, but let’s give it up for our generous professional submissions from Hai Poké, The Crest, and The Hungarian Butcher.

Other critical contributions were made by our gracious hosts at Valley Dale Ballroom; the Ayy Karamba! food truck; our do-it-all super producer, Bobby Miller, AKA Archie Fox, who helped us pull it all together; and the passionate crew of volunteers, friends, and family that donated their time and energy to help set-up, run, and tear down the event. THANK YOU!
